As promised, I have photos of the roses in bloom here on the Rose Red property! If you recall from my May journal entries, the roses began blooming eerily early, which only piqued my curiosity about the passages in Ellen’s diary in which Sukeena somehow controlled the vegitation on the property.

Both these photos were taken last week in the quad / garden behind the complex. Of course the landscapers had to pick red roses, but I doubt they expected them to be in full bloom so quickly.

Strangest thing is, I cut a few of the roses and brought them up to place in my antique crystal bowl (that belonged to Ellen), and they began to die almost immediately after I’d cut them. It was like they withered in my hands. By morning the next day their petals were falling off!

Terribly sorry for not writing in two weeks! It’s been a fairly boring time actually, and I haven’t had much to report.

I’ve been working on book reviews, I had four to finish and just put the polishing touches on the fourth a few minutes ago.

Amazing how this week has simply flown by. I have a few exciting things to share with you!

They’ve paved a little patio and porch area on either side, and they’ve got a rather large gazebo by the pool going in towards the waterfront. For those confused about the layout of the TechStar property, I’ve sketched (digitally) a little map:

The four grey towers have multiple storeys and contain the smaller “regular” condos. The white squares around the quad are the “Rose Suites”, the more expensive condos that look out over the garden. The Rose Suites are most expensive because they include architectural elements salvaged from the mansion, which Steve didn’t know until after TechStar finished construction. A chair rail on the walls came from the Perspective Hallway, for example. I live in one of the Rose Suites. (Continue reading…)
